Eulogy to the unborn
A test of faith began when the heart inside echoed in silence
A heart inside another.
While the mother prayed in silence
The poem struggled to comprehend the emotion.
A token of thanks or a wave of pain, only she knows.
The time has wrapped a chord around the neck,
like a binding vow.
Persistent on taking away a secret blessing.
Oh heavens! Shower forgiveness.
Oh Lord! cover the souls in tender mercies.
For what is a man but a lump of sin,
Yet, in your richest grace,
Would you not drop a penny in the poor man's plate?
You were born in darkness
You shall see no light
The time will freeze before you experience the dawn
Your skin will feel neither cold nor warmth
Nor a kiss nor Love nor hatred
You will be called by a name unknown
You shall neither feed from your mother's bosom
Nor play in your father's lap
The usurper stole the time and the moment
But the world is cruel, so is the heart
At your grave lays this poem. Forever!
Forever!
