Wailing Willow...

Let the bells ring and the drums blast
While the wailing resonates in the corridor
Someone prepared a home in for her in the burial ground
A grand final resting place for the mother!
Drape her in the best linen shouted her Love
For theirs was a matrimony so beautiful
And the Man was left alone again like the Adam
Only difference was the pain, the grief
And there was no more of her in his physical world!

As the dear ones gather for the final good-bye
and the flesh of her flesh hit by grief like a lost cub
He stood there watching the final act
How beautiful she looked even in silence
Only exception was the bright smile and that voice now muted!

Couldn't see, couldn't talk, couldn't cry
For He was with her at that moment
And her companion standing right beside her,
Holding her hand and smiling at Him
Startled was He and mourning in silence
For he was no son of her to cry aloud
nor her Lover to beat his heart out
Who was he? A no one!

As the Sun froze at the high sky
And the friends gathered around her
Yellow was her face with the smell of the turmeric
He couldn't kiss the final good bye
For the last image of her should be the one with a bright smile
As the bells rang and the drums blasted
And among the tears, the willow wailed one last time
Watching her face covered in dust!
