Secret Prayers

Like always, the light went out as if a movie was about to start
And the poet got lost in the vast wilderness of thoughts and words
Unaware of what was about to brew... Wondering if it would cause pain
Or bring about a laughter to the reader, well who cares!

Ever wondered how many types of prayers man invented
No matter how great we became, in thoughts, applying thoughts
Conquering what was given to us and conquering what was others'
No matter how big we grew, there is always, or rather say
Has always been one element, an inheritance we couldn't leave behind
A Prayer!

Let my words fly high, let them hear, listen intently
For the world is yet to sleep,
while people spend the riches to make friends
Get drunk to forget pain, to have fun or for what ever purposeless act
The poet said this to his Words, Listen!

Not far away from the shouts of the City,
Not for away from the jingles of currency,
You might hear a secret prayer... Listen!

As she lays down to rest her burdened soul,
With a beauty the modern man can't admire
In a society where beauty is determined by numbers and colours
Widowed... Burdened... Fulfilling the role - Motherhood
she prays... As she steers through her memories,
pushing behind the death and the charm Love produced before he vanished,
leaving behind their symbol of pure love!

Spend the hard earned money to buy back freedom for that night
He walks past the places where the man sits near the feet of Alcohol
With numbers in his head, dancing to the tunes of his misery
Can you hear it, his prayer? Loud inside, tearing the world apart
Yet calm and gentle outside, with a smile hiding behind that beard
Knocking on the doors of his heart just to find the Kid asleep!

For the Secret Prayers are numerous, Even Gods can't count
What are my Words compared to the Gods above he wondered
A secret prayer is conceived, sung, forgotten even before its realized
Like the music and poetry he composes,
Never to be recited again! For a new prayer would take the place of the earlier one...
I wonder how many Secret Prayers are being sung tonight...
